It's a Hollyhock Explosion!

Today I'm linking up with Tracie over at Fishtail Cottage . It's time for her garden party! My garden this year is basically an explosion of hollyhocks! I haven't planted any hollyhocks in years. And I'm always amazed where they pop up each year. Below is a piece of dirt on the side of my driveway by the street. The soil is horrible and what a surprise I got this Spring when all the hollyhocks began to bloom. I didn't even know they were there. Their seeds must have blown in that direction this year! Here's some more of my hollyhocks that have gone crazy this Spring!

I have no idea how the hollyhocks seeded themselves and grew here. It is on the side of my garage where the fence is falling down and we are getting ready to re-build it. I'm not sure there is even much dirt over there for the hollyhocks to seed themselves. But somehow, they managed! Happy Spring to you all!

Oh my goodness! Sue, your hollyhocks are magnificent! They are so tall and regal looking and the colors are glorious. Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day.

I love hollyhocks for their cottage charm. Don't ever try to plant them in good soil because they love to be in dry soil where they are neglected. Go figure.

Your yard is so charming!
