Spring at Country Roads

It is such a nice day outside today! It feels like Summer, which I actually love. It is a great time to get outside and play in the dirt as we do our Spring planting.

There is a little slideshow that has several pictures of my favorite place, Country Roads Antiques and Gardens. My hopes are if you click HERE that it just "might" take you to some of my favorite pictures of the "store"! And please mark your calendars for our 2nd annual sweet "Garden Party"!  It will be help on April the 4th, from 1pm till 3pm. We will also have our own "Gracie" there to answer any and all of your gardening questions. And of course, we will have some refreshments for you! We look forward to seeing you. . .

Welcome to Country Roads Neri!

Today was a bit overcast.  We all get spoiled living here in sunny SoCal! I love when the days are sunny, bright and warm!  Okay, enough weather talk.  We have a brand new dealer at Country Roads who I think is going to do very well! I am thrilled to have Neri as part of our Country Roads family. And what I love about him the most, outside of his great "stuff" is that smile he always has on his face, I love it!  Although he has just moved in, I wanted to share what he has done so far. So here you go. . .

A lot of times,  when I have people that want to become a dealer at Country Roads, a handful are picky about where they want to set up their stuff.  And usually when that happens,  it turns out that we just don't have space for them. Honestly, and those of you that are customers know this, but it really doesn't matter where you have your stuff at Country Roads because we all shop the entire store. Anyway, I will stop my ramblings and hope the next time you stop by at Country Roads, you will be sure to stop by and see Neri's new spot! It's in the third building which has the best and greatest architectural elements of all three of the buildings. Have a good week and don't forget to stop by and see us!

Take care,
Sue

A Sunny Wednesday

It's 86 degrees out her in sunny SoCal!  And it is a beautiful day for shorts and flip flops and I got a lot of gardening in as well here at my house!  And of course, my gardens at home are STUFFED with plants that I get from our own Johnnye Merle Gardens & Nursery!  I walk out the back door at CR and once I step into the JM's nursery, I fall in love.  As I have said many times, my oldest daughter, Brande, named he nursery after my Mom, her Grandma. So naturally, I love to wander around out there and always bring home plants almost every day for my house.  And inside of Country Roads?  It is filled with great stuff everywhere as most of you know.   I just wanted to take some time to share  some pictures of my favorite things here at Country Roads!

As you can tell by the pictures,  we really have some talented people here at Country Roads. I can't even begin to explain or tell you how much I love what I do!  Sure, there are those days that aren't the best of the best. But for the most part, I have great customers!  We are a family business in every sense of the word.  I wouldn't have it any other way, even when I bump heads with my grown kids!

Loving the Ocean Breezes

I had just a "little" bit of free time this afternoon. So I totally took advantage of our beautiful weather here in sunny SoCal!  I decided to spend just a little bit of time with a few of my favorite things; a cold Corona, and my iPod and headphones. And you know,  with the beautiful day and those three things, life was good to me this afternoon!

I always say that it is the little things in life that matter the most! I am very appreciative to live here in Long Beach, CA where the weather is nice, and a ocean breeze usually blows in during the afternoons.  I always LOVE to be outside! There is something about being outside that just clears my head and makes me feel so relaxed, especially when I have my music and a cold Corona!  It's back to work tomorrow, but I am very grateful for having some free time today!!

A Rainy Monday Morning

I'm always off on Mondays! After working the week-end, it is always a nice day to be off work and catch up on paperwork and errands. As I always say, I am so blessed to have an unlimited supply of great stuff at Country Roads to share.  Here are just a small sampling of what caught my eye at my very favorite place, Country Roads!

I hope each of you have a great week, and of course, I would like nothing better than to have you come do a little shopping with us here at Country Roads Antiques & Gardens!  Take care,  Sue
