So Long April!

In the blink of an eye, another month is about to come to an end.  I haven't quite figured out how to slow down time, or maybe I should say, slow my own time down! I am always running in a hundred directions at once and trying to make sure I don't drop the ball in all of my busy chaos!  I did find some time a few days ago to take a few pictures at Country Roads. We have such a variety of merchandise, styles, and decorating! It is one of the many things I love about Country Roads, its "always your favorite, never the same"!

As I always say, Country Roads really does have the best customers ever!  Over all these past 23 years, so many of you have become our friends.  That is one of the things that I love most about CR!  I hope you find some time to stop by and visit us this week.  As most of you already know,  our Country Roads family is always bringing in new stuff!  We all hope to see you soon, and I hope each of you have a wonderful week!  Take care. . .

A Sweet April Afternoon

It's a beautiful Spring day here in sunny SoCal.  It's a little cooler, but nonetheless, it is still beautiful outside. I can't wait to see the sunset.  I always try my best at the end of the day to sneak out in my backyard with my iPod and headphones and watch the sunset. There is something about being outside in the fresh evening air after a long day that clears your head! Today I've posted some random pictures from Country Roads. I didn't have as much time as I normally do to take the pictures, but here is a small selection of things that caught my eye.

Happy Thursday!

I am so lucky to love my job.  I am surrounded every day with such sweet, sweet, eye candy!  There are times that I forget how long I've been open here at Country Roads. It's been about 23 years, which still amazes me. I am very, very grateful to have a "job" that really doesn't seem like a job, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I posted some random pictures from CR that I thought you might enjoy!

Tomorrow is TGIF, and the week-end is almost here.  As always, I "hope" Country Roads is on your list of things to do.  Take care. . . Sue

Our Country Roads Garden Party

On Saturday, April the 4th, from 12 noon until 2pm we are having a little "garden party" in our Johnnye Merle and Country Roads Gardens.  For those of you that read my blog from time to time,  you know that our gardens and nursery was named after my Mom, " Johnnye Merle"! My Mom was born and raised in Temple, Texas. I remember as a kid, she would tell me stories about her love of the Texas Bluebonnets. My Mom pretty much gardened her entire life. And when she got older, and a bit frail, she was no long able to work in her gardens. So my Dad took out their kitchen window in their house, and installed a green house window for her!  I have gardened my entire life as well, and passed that down to my own three kids, Brande, Katie, and Bryce who are now all grown up!  what really warms my heart is that now, we have the third generation of little gardeners pictured above, from left to right, Bodhi, Morgan, Brooklyn, and Riley. For those of you that love gardening, you know what when I say that their is just something really special about planting a garden. I hope you enjoy the pictures below.

My hopes are that many of you will find the time to stop by on Saturday, between the hours of noon and 2pm,  and visit our gardens and nursery.  Gracie, our resident gardener, will also be on hand to answer any and all of your gardening questions!  And just so you know how much we appreciate you all, we will have refreshments for you out in the garden as well!  I'm looking forward to seeing many of you on Saturday!

The pictures on this blog post were taken by Russell, from Snider Photo and Design. He is the best of the best! And of course we always have a family connection here at Country Roads!  Russell is married to Emily, who is the daughter of Leslie Dierks who with her Mom, Margaret, were my very first dealers at Country Roads way back in 1992! I always say that Country Roads is about family!  And if you are looking for a great photographer, let me know and I will give you Russell's contact information.
