Vintage Inspiration Friday

This week, I'm once again joining Debra for "Vintage Inspiration Friday"! I was out in our gardens at Country Roads this past week, and wanted to share some pictures of what is out there right now! When you step out the back doors of Country Roads, you step into an entirely different world. There is a little garden and nursery out there, "Johnnye Merle Gardens & Nursery". It belongs to my oldest daughter, Brande, and was named after her Gramma, my mom, who passed away a few days after Riley was born. That was my mom's first great-grandchild! My mom LOVED to garden, so for obvious reasons this little nursery is very special to me! In the pictures below, I hope you see how different our nursery is from others. And right now, we have Annie's Annuals in stock and are excited about the arrival of Fall and are Fall gardens!

Johnnye Merle's was built on top of asphalt. The majority of the display pieces are vintage, including an old flatbed pickup truck, old appliances, bathtubs, and more. I have a very close relationship with this little garden. When I need to get away for a few minutes during the work day, this is where I go. If you click HERE "hopefully" you will see just how special Johnnye Merle's is to me! It just goes to show you that you can garden anywhere if you have that desire, if you are "inspired" by nature and all things "vintage"!!

Hi Sue, I always love taking a walk in your nursery; the truck and all the industrial aspects that really show off the plants. Your family has discovered the concept of "working" in what you love! Thanks for joining in on VIF!! have a great weekend,
xo,
Debra

The garden is so peaceful and full of beauty. There is not a time that I am at the store that I miss a stroll, you can feel the magic. Of course and the garden is Gracie's favorite place to play hide and seek!

Have a wonderful Friday!!

What a fabulous garden! I love gardens, just never seem to have the time to plant one! Maybe when I retire! Like that will ever happen! LOL!

I wish you were coming to Texas, I would love to meet you!

Sue, I will always remember the tribute you did for your mom and her gardens. It is so inspiring and makes me miss my own mother. However, the present-day gardens have changed even since I was there just about 6 weeks ago. I personally love the succulants as we do not have those in our part of the country. I look forward to the time that I again get to stroll through your mom's garden at CRA.
