The Busy Blue Canoe

Tim and Lisa, Blue Canoe, were busy, very busy yesterday doing a make over. And as always, their "make overs" look really great. Here are a few photos of what I'm talking about.

What I "should" have taken pictures of were some of the things that Tim was showing me in his van and trailer. They are getting ready to do the show next week-end up in Washington, and of course I forgot the name. I "think" it might be the one that the Farm Chicks put together. Back to what is headed to Washington. Tim is truly an artist. I first met Tim back in, I think, 1991. I had a small store, Battered Barn, over on S.Glassell. He had come in one day with these amazing birdhouse. The detail was amazing. Yesterday he showed me something he had made. He bought a rusty, front end of a toy truck a flea market awhile back. He made like a camper on the back, very detailed, little doors, burlap awnings. I just looked at him and said, "that is the Tim I remember". There was an eight foot table made from old barn wood and the legs were these huge, chunky corbels. Maybe I can get him to send me some pictures of this stuff from the show when they are set up. Again, it would blow you away. I best get moving, have to head out to "the store". And we all know what day it is! Morgan's birthday party was great. I'll post some pictures later this week. When it was time for her to blow out her candle, let's just say this sums it up, "it's your party and you cry if you want to, cry if you want to, then PUKE!!! Have a great day.

Tim & Lisa, At It Again!

I was off for a couple of days, and when I came back in yesterday, I noticed Tim & Lisa had been busy doing a make over in their space. I've always said, you find something new or different every day at Country Roads. I'm not kidding as you will see in the pictures below of Tim & Lisa's stuff!

The thing I love the best about my store is the people, my Country Roads family. Everyone works together to give our customers a wonderful shopping experience! And for this, I'm truly grateful!!

When Tim Says He's Been Creative?

Yesterday Tim & Lisa pulled up to Country Roads with their van packed, stuff on top, and Tim said to me, "I've been creative this week, I think I brought too much stuff in". Yes, Tim was quite creative last week. Check out these pictures and you will see what I mean.

And believe me, my photos don't do justice to what has been created in this part of Country Roads by Tim & Lisa. I'll have some more pictures up in a couple of days or so. But, I have to tell you one more thing, when that creative light bulb flicks to "on" in Tim's head, you should check out his hair then!

White Wednesday: Courtesy of Texas!

This "White Wednesday" I've got some great photos for you. A few members of my Country Roads family recently went to the shows in Texas. And while some of them, along with another store down here in Old Towne Orange, are waiting for the cargo truck to bring home their stuff, Tim & Lisa are already busy "selling" their stuff!! Tim drove to Texas with his cargo van and trailer. And when the shows were over, he booked it back to CA. That awesome country primitive, chippy white painted cupboard pictured above just SOLD this past Easter Sunday! Here are a few more photos of great fresh new product that is now at Country Roads just waiting for you!!

Believe me, all of the stuff above is truly amazing.! The pictures above don't say enough. And as many of you already know, if you see something you can't live without, you can just call Country Roads and pay for it over the phone with a credit card! We will put it in storage until you are able to come pick it up. And "thank you" to the world famous "Kathleen" for hosting "White Wednesday"! Hope all of you are enjoying Spring!

Preparing For Rachel's Book Signing

"The Boys", Tim & Bryce spent the day yesterday setting up a killer display for Rachel's book signing today. I thought I would show you some of the "really" hard work they Tim & Bryce did yesterday to prepare for this.

It's hard enough to work on anything in the store when you are open with customers. But when you are slammed like we were today on a busy Saturday, it is especially difficult. There were tools, "chandies" and more all over the floor. Things were displayed, and re-displayed till the "look" was just right! And as it neared the six o'clock hour last night, it was time to call it a day and turn out the lights. The finishing touches were added this morning. And "thank you" doesn't even begin to express my appreciation to Tim & Lisa, and "my boy Bryce"!This is what I always talk about in my blog posts, the feeling of "real" family we feel here at Country Roads! Check back tomorrow for a post on the actual book signing itself. And again, my thanks to everyone that is participating in this event today, I appreciate your kindness!

Alameda Flea Market

At the beginning of each month, Bryce heads up north with Tim & Lisa to the Alameda Flea Market. I've been after him to send me some photos. He finally sent a few. I believe he took these when it was time to pack up and head back home.

Not sure what the clown head display is all about, but I'm "guessing" this just might be Tim's! Maybe on the next trip, I can get Bryce to take some pixs of some of the displays other vendors have. One of these days, one of these months, I would like to take a week-end off and take up a road trip to visit my Country Roads family up at the flea market. Alameda is supposed to pretty awesome I hear. But for now, at least there are pictures!

Tim & Lisa, Amazing!

I've been in this "business" for at least 18 years now if not more. I've dealt with so many new dealers over the years, I can't even count them anymore. Today though, I was left speechless and the absolutely amazed at the unbelievable space that Tim & Lisa put together. And this is just their "first" day! I usually have a lot to say, but in this case, I think the pictures say more than I ever could say. And, I didn't even do justice to the pictures I took. Again, I couldn't be happier than to have these two talented people join our Country Roads family!!

So, was I right? I didn't really need to add any words did I? Check back, I promise there will be more photos up very soon, much better than these. And welcome Tim and Lisa, you guys are the best!!
