Time For A Quickie

I think I have a combination of both my computer and AOL sucking which means I only have time for a quickie! Actually, I really don't even have time for that, but if it was a different kind of "quickie", well? Okay, back to this post. Below are some awesome pictures that I totally lifted off Loretta's blog.I hope you have some time to go visit her blog, it is truly beautiful. And since she is a dealer in my store, and puts together such awesome displays, I didn't think she would mind if I "borrowed" these photos!

I'm getting ready to head out the door to go to "the store"! I'm hoping for a nice week-end, but then again that might be boring!! I running a bit late this morning, because that is just what I was doing, "running"! I'm still "owning it", and hitting the treadmill hard these days. I'm up to three miles, and I know for some of you that isn't a big deal, but for me, it is another mark as one day I would really like to be able to do five. And you know what, it may take me awhile, but one day I "will" be able to run five miles on my good ole treadmill. Hope you have some time to come see us this week-end. I've already given you a "peek show" above. Have a wonderful Saturday!!

White Wednesday

We've been doing a lot of moving and re-decorating at Country Roads the past week or so. And when we do this, it is amazing how fast it gets done! On this "White Wednesday" I have some pictures of an area of my store that, to me, has always been an old canvas just waiting for the right "painter" to come along and paint a masterpiece! And although, Loretta of Full Bloom Cottage, isn't quite done with her masterpiece, here are few photos of the beginning.

Hopefully, next week on "White Wednesday" I'll have photos of the finished "masterpiece". And as always, I'm very grateful to Kathleen for hosting "White Wednesday"! Take some time to go visit her blog. She has some amazing photos as do many of our other "White Wednesday" friends! Take care.

Moving Week is Done!

I mentioned last week that we were having some BIG moving of stuff going on at Country Roads. If I can "think", which sometimes I become challenged in that area, we moved like five vendors, with one leaving. It is really difficult to have that many people move at once. But what is so cool when its over, is we get a new "look"! Things are freshly painted and fluffed and re-fluffed! The individual areas of Country Roads are somewhat like a blank canvas, just waiting for a masterpiece to appear. Although it is very chaotic when this happens the end result is SO worth it! Above is just a sneak preview of one of the areas that has been re-done. It's a rainy day, and a great day for me to take some pictures at Country Roads. I have a feeling there will be lots & lots of "eye candy" to share tomorrow!

White Wednesday

Happy "White Wednesday" to all! This "White Wednesday", I have not only some great photos from Country Roads, but some exciting news as well. Full Bloom Cottage as many know, has been a part of Country Roads for awhile now. Loretta is known for her elegant displays and beautiful "whites". In a few weeks, Loretta and Full Bloom Cottage will be expanding at Country Roads. She will have a "showroom" where you can now order down sofas & loveseats, pillows, bed shams, and much more. We all have a bit of work ahead of us, but soon the end result will be worth it! Here are just a few random pictures I've taken of Loretta's displays over the past year or so. Hope you enjoy them.

For many more great photos, go check out Kathleen's blog. She's got a list that has many, many talented people on it with awesome photos. Take care.

What's New at Country Roads This Week-end?

Okay, I'm a bit prejudiced when it comes to Country Roads, but with good reason! Every day there is something "new, different, cool, awesome, and exciting" at Country Roads, really. Loretta just moved into a new space, and gave us some new eye candy to look at. This mirror is absolutely beautiful, as all of her things are! These pictures really don't do justice to the beautiful finds that are waiting for you to discover! Here's another shot of more of Loretta's wonderful finds. I don't want to show you too much and spoil your when you come to visit and see the rest! Also, our two front windows have been re-done by "my boy Bryce"! The windows are really difficult to get a good picture of because of the glare. But trust me, I'm not saying this because Bryce is my kid, these two windows are absolutely "awesome", makes me proud. Be sure to go see much more of Bryce's stuff, just click on his link. And if my link doesn't work, which sometimes happens, just find Bryce's blog on my sidebar and click on his blog there! So, above is just a small preview of what is new at Country Roads this week-end. I'll be back with more!!

Thankful, Grateful, and Appreciative

Today we had a very busy day at Country Roads and I'm exhausted, in a good way! People were buying everything, including furniture. It reminds me to keep the faith in our futures, our situations are temporary, and I have hope that we're all going to be in a better place here pretty soon. I only had a few minutes to take some photos today because we were so busy, but I just wanted to share a few pictures with you. The first grouping is of Loretta Kilheffer's and the last two are of Christie Repasy's area at Country Roads. If you are wondering what the "cat signs" are on the furniture, it means the pieces of have been sold or are on layaway.
As I said, I am really grateful for the support I get from all my Country Roads family. They too work tirelessly to put together awesome displays but also to make their products affordable. If you haven't been by lately, I do hope you stop in a see what we have. And again, thanks to all of you that continue to shop with us. You are the best!

A Little Elegance

The one thing I really love about Country Roads is the different "looks" you will find throughout our 15,000 sq feet(both inside and outside in the garden). The photo above is in Loretta Kilheffer's area, she has two spots in the store. I love how the exposed brick from the old building goes so well with her beautiful whites. The chandelier in this picture looks great with the contrast of the vintage shutters and picture frames, all perched above a white washed vintage dresser. Over in Loretta's second area of the store, that is in one of our front windows, I love the top shelf. I'm a sucker for architectural pieces and old globes (I have several vintage globes in Riley's playroom). Loretta's pillows are also pretty cool as well. The old, chippy white door with the mirror would look great in ANY room. In this photo, it sits next to an old farm table. These really awesome architectural corbels look even better with the tabletop chandelier in the back! You know, when I first opened Country Roads in January of 1993, we were primarily country and primitive antiques. Now, many years later Country Roads has many looks, something for everyone. And these looks are changing all the time, so its fun to shop. But what means the most to me is that the majority of my dealers really understand the importance of display, and they are GOOD at it!
