I Love This Time of Year~

Even though we've had a bit of a warm week here at Country Roads, the nights cool us right back down. I always love this time of year. I think I become more of a homebody and enjoy just hanging around my house more than leaving it, if that makes sense. Country Roads is looking especially good these days if you haven't had a chance to make it in. There is a huge variety of stuff to choose from and our gardens out back have all the colors of Fall!  Below are just a few pictures of what caught my eye this week. . .

I love these beat up old dress forms. If they came home with me, I believe they would just have to come together. How could you leave one of them behind? As we get closer to the week-end, I hope you add us to your list of places to go. As many of you know, there is something "always" going on at Country Roads!!  Take care. . .

Some October Sweetness

The time flies by, doesn't it? I'm always amazed by the passage of time. I watch the seasons change at Country Roads, and it is always SO sweet with the different vignettes, displays and merchandise. I just wanted to let you know that if you are looking for something to do on Columbus day Monday, Country Roads will be open from 10am to 5pm. Also, if you love to garden and enjoy our gardens out in the back of the store, we will be hosting another Garden Party on Saturday, the 26th of October from around 1pm till 3ish! On hand to answer any and all questions will be Brande Jackson, Debbie Watts, and Cathy Jarrell. And of course there will be a few refreshments for you all! Below are just a few pictures of things that I happen to really like, and thought I would share. . .

Sometimes you don't need a lot of words.  The pictures tell the story all on their own!

Full Bloom Cottage

Many of you know Loretta from Full Bloom Cottage. She also has a beautiful window space here at Country Roads. She's been working on a makeover the past couple of days and it all turned out so beautiful. Here are a few pictures to show you what I mean. . .

I remind myself daily of how fortunate I am to have a store, Country Roads, that is filled with such incredible talent!

Fall at Country Roads

Fall is one of our very favorite times of the year at Country Roads. We have "only" just begun to get the store decorated for Fall. Yesterday,  Brande started with the area by the front door. Here are a few of my favorite vignettes. . . 

We've still got the front window to decorate, the inside of the rest of the store, and of course, our favorite. . .  Johnnye Merle's Gardens and Nursery. And speaking of our gardens, we will be having another little "Garden Party" in late October. Please check the store for details. And I know that Fall doesn't officially arrive until Sunday the 22nd, but I do want to wish you a "Happy Fall". And come on down and see us! We have everything you need for your Fall decorating, including your gardens as well!!

A Garden

I don't know what it is about having a garden, but for me it just makes me happy. I so appreciate the different colors of nature, and also the brilliant colors of some of the bugs that also love my flowers!

I can never remember the name of this plant, but I so love it. And the colors of this bug are so pretty! My son has the same plant at his house and it is now taller than his roof! One of the reasons love my garden so much is because it doesn't ask a lot of me. It only wants to be watered when needed and the rewards from that watering are wonderful!
