Learning to Smile

It's hard to believe that Morgan is a couple of months old now. Pretty soon she will be chasing Riley around. There are no pictures of Riley in this post since she wanted to "take" the pictures, not be in them!! Above, Morgan is thinking about smiling. We had to work to get that smile out of her, because she just wasn't quite ready. In this photo, she looks just like her daddy, my son Bryce when he is mad about something. Although, he usually doesn't stick his tongue out!!Morgan is thinking about that smiling stuff but still isn't too sure.Morgan is also beginning to "talk" as she is in this picture. There we go, the smile I had been waiting for! It's amazing how much little babies change each day. I'm lucky to be able to share in all of Morgan's "firsts" as I was with Riley. Someone the other day was talking to me about becoming a Grandmother, her daughter is pregnant. She told me she didn't want to be called "Grandma" and asked me what Riley called me. I turned and said, "Gramma" and I love the sound of that little word coming out of Riley's sweet little mouth. It makes my day, you know what I mean?

Morgan Almost a Month Old!

It's hard to believe our new little baby is going to be a month old on Friday. The time goes by so quickly. I love being able to see her everyday, and watch how fast she changes, her different expressions, all the "firsts" in her life. That's how it was with Riley since I live so close to her. I remember that first year all the milestones, all the changes. I wouldn't trade those days, or these days now for anything. I like when Morgan is just "chillin". You can see her little blue eyes looking around and I always wonder what she is thinking? When Morgan gets this real serious look on her face, she looks so much like Bryce when he is irratated about one thing or another. I can't believe in a few days Baby Morgan, as Riley calls her, will be a month old. Before we know it, Morgan will be up running around and making chaos with her cousin Riley! Gramma's girls!!

I "HAD" To Share!

Okay, I promise I will not take pictures of everything my soon to be grandbaby Morgan is getting. The shower isn't until Sunday, and this isn't like my first grandbaby, but I'm just as excited. Is that little pirate outfit not the cutest thing ever. Stacey, you rock! I happened to be there when Bryce and Justine opened the gift. I think I was worse than Bryce & Justine with excitement! Not only did Stacey pick out that cute little outfit above, she also gave the baby a vintage baby book! I always knew there was a reason Stacey was my friend, a heart of gold. And I promise, I will not do a post on every gift baby Morgan gets. I just had to have "my moment"!

Why I Love Ruthie!!

Today a package came in the mail addressed to "Morgan Jackson", and on the bottom it had written on it, "open ASAP". It was from my friend Ruthie who is now stuck in Florida. She is like a mom to me, and a Gramma to my kids, we all love her. Ruthie sent Morgan a sassy little bathing suit with some poolside sandals. Sorry the photo above is blurry because it "was" a cute moment with Riley and Justine! Enclosed with the wonderful gift was a handwritten card from Ruthie. Riley was doing her best to read the card. Ruthie has a way with words, as you will see below! When you read Ruthie's clever, heartfelt words, don't you miss her too? On a personal note, I am absolutely taking sides as to "why" my friend is now living in Florida, you know what I mean Susan!! Sometimes things in life happen that are just wrong! Enough said. We are having the baby shower at my house in a little less than two weeks now. It won't be the same without Ruthie! Riley is trying to explain to Morgan about the great gift that came today for her. Not sure Morgan quite understood, nor did Riley. But it was still special moment for Riley and her soon to be cousin!
