Variety

My very favorite thing about Country Roads is the variety of "stuff" we have here in the store and in our gardens as well. I am so fortunate to work with a great group of talented people that never disappoint me!  Here are a few of my favorite things at Country Roads this week. . .

I hope each of you are enjoying your week and we look forward to seeing you soon at Country Roads.  We are truly blessed having the wonderful customers that we do here at CR!

Take a Peek Inside!

I can be off for one day, and come back to Country Roads the next day and there is always, without fail,  new stuff to see! Below are a few of my favorites that caught my eye yesterday!

As many of you know, these pictures are just a tiny sampling of what is at Country Roads right now. And please remember that we are having a big sale AND a "Garden Party" this week-end. The sale begins on Saturday, the 15th, and continues through Monday at closing. Our "Garden Party" is a little informal gathering on Saturday at around 1pm. Our gardens are looking better than ever right now, and our favorite "garden geeks" will be on hand to answer any of your questions! Hope to see you soon. . .

It's Thursday, Time For A New Blog. . .

We are having a little bit of cold weather and rain here this week in our normally sunny SoCal! I'm not a big fan of cold weather at all. But I must admit, compared to the rest of our country, our 57 degree weather today is nothing! None the less, I'm still cold! Today I just wanted to share some of the random stuff we always have at Country Roads. And believe me, we do have a lot of it!

I also wanted to let you know that we will be having a big sale on President's Week-End. It will begin on Saturday, the 22nd and run through the close of business on Monday. As always, there is a lot of great stuff to choose from. Also on that same Saturday, at around 1pm or so, our garden geeks here at Country Roads will be hosting another little "Garden Party". And by the way, if you haven't seen our gardens lately, you need to stop by!  They've have a new and improved look!!  It's  lookin' good these days!  Also, if you like the pictures above, I do post  new photos every day on Facebook at "Country Roads Antiques & Gardens". And lastly, we are also on Instagram as well as Country Roads! Take care and thanks for all the support you continue to give myself and my Country Roads family. It's appreciated!!

Something For Everyone. . .

Even though Country Roads is "my" store, and I am a bit prejudiced, I have to say, I am continuously  blown away by all the beautiful and unique stuff we have here at CR! Nothing stays the same, and there is usually something new brought into the store each and every day.  I also LOVE the variety that we have here at Country Roads Antiques and Gardens!! Below are just a few examples of that!

I've been doing "this" for a long time now, over twenty years or so. And I have to say, I still absolutely LOVE what I do!! I never get tired of it. I hope you find some time to stop by and get lost in all of this great stuff of ours! Take care. . .

What Calls Your Name?

When it comes to what we collect, or what we just "have to have", it is hard to narrow it all down. I can confess right now, I like so many different things that I really couldn't pick a favorite! I've always had a love affair with architectural elements, as you will see in these pictures of my house. I love to think about what they were used for and where they came from in their past lives.

I also decorate my house with stuff that is "different". I not only love old advertising and country primitives, but I love stuff like the old kids bike, or the rusty of door that came off of a tractor.

You can see how well loved this old wood chair has been by my cats, sigh! I bought this old chair years and years ago from my dear sweet friend, Chris Nickoloff that sadly left us way too young. I think of her often when I sit in my old chair.

I use these old vintage gym lockers in my office. They work perfectly for organizing my paper and it is easy for me to find what I'm looking for. Sometimes vintage stuff is really more practical than stuff you might by at a furniture store.

And speaking of furniture stores, who says you can't use vintage furniture in your home everyday. I love my old couch that Sue Lennon had re-done and brought into Country Roads. I just had to have it!

This is one of my all time favorite country cupboards. It is an old pine stepback and it's stuffed, and I do mean stuffed, with children's vintage toys and books. Its got the old wavy glass on the doors and I just love it!

This is my "other" old stepback cupboard. Years ago one of my cats managed to knock over a big Christmas tree that fell into the glass and broke one of the cupboard doors little windows. It's funny what we remember about our stuff. . .

This old "Cocktails" sign use to hang outside of a bar in Pasadena, CA. I think that is also one of the things that draw me to this love of the old. The sign "use" to be hanging in my house, but when it was getting dusted and cleaned, it somehow came down. It needs to go back up soon.

I got all my stuff in the pictures above from Country Roads. The picture above, however, came from a little shop in Cypress years and years ago. I love the color on it and the zinc top. It use to be some kind of kids game in a carnival. And again, I can't tell you how fond I am of this little piece. I'm sure many of you are like me, every piece in your home as a story to tell. I think that is "why" after 21 years, I am still so in love with Country Roads. There are so many stories to tell about so many things. I hope you will stop by and see us soon and bring home your own story!

Thursday Eye Candy

When I take pictures at Country Roads, I never, ever finish because there are so many wonderful things to take pictures of! It is never ending. Here is just a very small selection of a few of my favorite things. . .

I hope if you are looking for something to do, you might think about heading down our way here in Old Towne Orange! It's great to be located in an old historic area that was first established in the 1800's. And there are great stores, restaurants, and many other historic goodies waiting for you to discover! We all hope to see you soon. . .
