White Wednesday

Happy White Wednesday to everyone. It is a beautiful Spring day here in sunny SoCal! Today for "White Wednesday" I've got some great pictures of displays from Debbie Watts. Whatever this girl touches, it turns to magic!  Over the years I've seen so many talented people. But I have to say, Debbie tops the list. I think when you look at her pictures you will see what I mean.

Variety

It is such a beautiful Monday. After two days of rain and wind off and on, today is definitely making up for the week-end! The sun is shining and it just feels like Spring! And speaking of the rain? It didn't prevent Country Roads from having a busy week-end. Thank you to all of you that shopped with us. It was great to be so busy.  Today I tried to post pictures that show the "variety" of stuff that Country Roads carries. While some stores pigeon hole themselves by specializing in just one or two things, I'm happy we are able to offer something  for everyone! A few random examples of that are here below.

Our Johnnye Merle Gardens is looking SO good right now. We are getting weekly shipments of plants and have quite a selection for our customers to choose from.  We pride ourselves on carrying an inventory of plants that are a little bit different than what you would find at say, Home Depot or Lowe's. Also out in the gardens you will find Cathy, the Vintage Lady. She has some great things for you as well, including "fairy gardens". I hope you find the time to stop by and see us soon. Sunday Morning

For some reason, waking up on Sunday mornings always seem so peaceful to me. I love the quiet, and this morning as I sat in bed looking out my sliding doors, I watched as the rain bounced off the pool water. It's kind of funny, because that peacefulness that I have right now usually disappears once I arrive at the store! Yes, there is something oh so special about working Sundays at Country Roads. Thus, that is why we call it "BSC" Sunday!  Here are a few random photos from yesterday that caught my eye.

I love my son, Bryce's, industrial lamps. Yes, I'm a bit prejudiced, but each one is usually different than the last one he creates. I have several in my house. Oh, and before I forget, we got a huge plant delivery on Friday. Come on down and find some beautiful and unusual plants for your Spring gardens and great stuff for your home as well!

A Hollyhock Explosion!

I absolutely LOVE this time of year. Out here in sunny SoCal we've been having all kinds of weather. It will be really cold, really hot, rain, or wind or just a nice beautiful day. My gardens are loving all the rain! For some reason, this year I have a hollyhock explosion. They are coming up everywhere and I haven't planted anything. What makes it more interesting is that they are growing the fastest out by in the parkway on the other side of my driveway. This dirt is horrible over there. Bryce use to make cement hearts, and would dump the let over cement in this part of my garden. The boy makes me crazy. Anyway, I just wanted to share some pictures of my hollyhock explosion and the rest of the flowers and plants that are popping up everywhere!

There are days like today where I long for the sunshine and am so anxious to sit outside and enjoy my home and my gardens. I think I am truly the happiest when I'm at home!

A Day Off

For those of you that are self employed like me, we know there really is never a day off. Some days you might have more time to yourself than other days, but on most days the job, or I should  say our passion, comes home with us. So, from me, no complaints today. I did enjoy the quiet of my home while I tackled some paperwork! Below are some random things that caught my eye yesterday at Country Roads.

The Whole Package

Being in this business of mine, I've seen so many great displays over my twenty years. But honestly, I have to say that Sue Lennon's displays are way beyond over the top. Sue gives so much attention to "detail", with the lighting, the tiny vignettes, and her own look and style. I'm always blown away each and every time she performs her magic here at Country Roads! Here's several photos to show you what I'm talking about.

This industrial rack is so unique. You plug it in, and it all lights up. Totally cool for any room in your house! You know, I say this a lot but  I sincerely not only love what I do, but I love Country Roads as well. I have an amazing and talented family here! Thanks to you all.
