Chandi Love At CR

One thing we have a lot of at Country Roads is chandeliers! We have all kinds of shapes, sizes, styles, prices and more. As I was walking through the store this past week-end, I was noticing not only how many that we have, but the variety of styles and prices as well. Here are just a few that caught my eye.

I am very fortunate that my Country Roads family seems to have a never ending supply of these chandi's that so many of us love. And what you see above, well, it is just a small portion of what we have. I hope you all enjoyed your week-end. We are open seven days if you would like to stop by for some "chandi love" of your own!

Sunday Morning Randomness

We had a crazy busy day at Country Roads yesterday and we were short a person. And that was followed by Riley's birthday party last night. Her birthday is on Friday, but she  had her party early for all of her little friends. It was a little crazy, but when you are with family and good friends, what's a little crazy? Today, I posted some pictures of some random stuff we have here at Country Roads. There is always something new and different. That's what I love the best about CR!

The weather is SO nice right now. I hope you find  some time to stop by and see us. The store, the gardens, everything is looking really good! See you soon!

Halloween at CR Is Arriving!

Lori Gutierrez is creating quite a "spook" with these custom made Halloween dolls. They've got nothing on Chuckie! All of Lori's creations are so wonderful and have so much detail on them. I'm a big fan of her mermaid paintings. But there is something just really special about our girls that are arriving daily! Let me show you the latest arrivals!

The detail of these little dolls just amazes me. Each one is customized to have her own look.! If you are a bit fearful, no worries. The girls are all locked up behind glass. It's nice to see so much Halloween arriving at Country Roads. It reminds you that Fall is just around the corner!! The weather is absolutely beautiful out today. I hope you have time to stop by and see us. The girls will be waiting!

Why I Slept Good Last Night!!

Two days a week, Riley and Bodhi come over and I watch them while Katie works. These are really busy days. When Morgan is home, she joins the gang and then everything gets going. Yesterday, Bodhi got into the big utensil drawer. The knives have long ago been put away to unreachable places. But there were a few  utensils that also had to be relocated today! The kids had fun playing with the ones I left them have.

Bodhi will seriously fight going to sleep no matter how tired he is or how badly he needs a nap. Yesterday I almost had to pin him down to get him to fall asleep. And thankfully he slept for a long time! Morgan and Bodhi are only a year apart. Riley will be five on the 26th of this month. Not sure how that happened. She is so excited about kindergarten. Riley is also a really big help with her brother. He is one busy boy. And I wondered "why" I slept so good last night!!

I Could Be a Beach Bum!

It's true. . .I really could be a beach bum. I've always lived within a ten minute drive to the beach. Growing up as a kid my folks use to take us to Seal Beach and down to what is now called "Bolsa Chica". We use to call it "Tin Can Beach" back in my day. The sand went right to PCH, and back then no one was very aware of our environment. People drove their cars and just pitched their trash out the windows, especially cans. Thus, that is where the nickname of "Tin Can Beach" came in. Thankfully people became aware of the importance of our environment and cleaned things up. As I got older, I would ride my bike to the beach with my best buddy Donna Nagel. Then when I was old enough to drive, there was no stopping me. I hit every beach from the Bay in Long Beach all the way down to La Jolla! I remember sitting in the sand in Huntington Beach, before it became "Surf City" watching the Golden Bear Night Club burn the ground. I still enjoy the beach when I can find the time. In my bedroom, I surround myself with things that remind me of my love for the beach and ocean. Along with my vintage bathing suits, I have a few vintage surfboards as well. The picture below is my latest in my collection of bathing vintatge suits. Bryce bought it for me as a belated birthday present, which he really didn't need to do, but I greatly appreciated it!

Although our beaches here in SoCal can't match the ones in Hawaii or even in Central & Northern CA, they still cure that beach bum fix in me. There is nothing greater, at least for me, than watching the sunset at the beach! The salty air, the ocean breeze, all contribute to the real reason I could be a beach bum!

White Wednesday

Debbie Watts space sits right across from the store counter. And I swear, every time I come in, I am just totally amazed at how wonderful her displays are! Believe me, my pictures don't even begin to illustrate the talent that you will find here. So, with that said, I will let you take a look for yourself. I'm sure you will agree with me on this one, totally awesome!!

So am I correct? If you live nearby, you have to stop by and see this for yourself. I always say how blessed I am to have such wonderful, talented people that make up my Country Roads family. They are truly the best of the best! Speaking of talent and the best of the best, please stop by and visit another incredible blog. Kathleen, Faded Charm Cottage, not only is incredibly talented, but she is our "White Wednesday" hostess. I always enjoy what I find on Kathleen's blog, and her featured blogs as well. Hope you all are enjoying these last few weeks of Summer. I have no idea where it went this year! Take care.
