The Art of Display Part 2

I think in this "business" of stuff, display is everything! It gives us ideas how we could use vintage things in different ways that we may not have thought about before. It is also a means of recycling as well. But it is also not as easy as it may seem to put vintage stuff together in little vignettes or groupings. What I love about Cindy (aka "the quiet one") is that she comes in each week, cleans, waxes the floor, re-displays all of her spaces and you never know that she is even at the store! Truly amazing. Actually last week she was in two days in a row. I should have gone back the second day and taken some more pictures since she added even more stuff to her displays. Here are just a few of the vignettes you will find courtesy of Cindy.

It is also a bit of a challenge, as you know, when you just put together a totally awesome display, and the main focal point of it sells! What's great about Country Roads? Our small, little staff is right behind the customers to re-fluff the display!! Sometimes when I'm walking through "the store" with my camera, I can't believe how many talented people make up our little piece of paradise called "Country Roads"! I hope you find some time this week-end to stop by and see us. There is some awesome stuff in right now! Take care.

It's a mixed blessing when something big sells. It's nice for the pocket book but then everything has to be re-foofed!

Oh, Cindy! That is high praise coming from Sue! Awesome displays! And you wax the floor? If Sue invites you to her house, don't go! Seriously! She will have you mopping and waxing! :)

Hi Sue~

I agree with you.....display is everything. I think when your eye is drawn to an overall display you are more likely to buy a piece or two from it. You are just surrounded by amazing talent.

Hope you're not working too hard this weekend.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating...you have got the best dealers with the best eyes for picking out superb treasures!

I agree about the display! You gotta give people and idea of what to do with the treasures they buy!

I have to say that Cindy is one of the hardest working dealers in the store. She is so stealth, here one day, totally new and incredible display hours or days later and you never her a peep!!
