Vintage Inspiration

Vintage inspiration? What does that mean to you? All the treasures we fill our homes with or is it just a way of life that we love. Since my store, Country Roads, is filled to the brim with cool vintage stuff, I'm always dragging something home and changing up my vignettes.

My hearth and fireplace always seem to get a makeover quite often. I fell in love with the old tractor at Country Roads. My boy Bryce had re-done the old child's tractor, and I fell in love with it.

Another one of my favorites is the old rusty door off an old truck. There was something about the rust that always calls my name.  And some of this stuff you just don't see anymore.

I'm always a big fan of old advertising, so the sign on the door was a plus!

I've had this old radiator, that came off an old Model-T forever. It went well with the old door.

My family room is a big open room, high ceilings, and it's sometimes hard to get the right lighting in there. These old spotlights work great. They can be angled to have the light hit more of the open beam ceiling.

This spotlight was a Christmas gift from Bryce. He re-wires them, polishes them up, and they are some of my favorite lighting in my home.  Sometimes people don't think that they can use vintage and antique stuff in their homes as functional, every day pieces. Many people thing antiques are just old pieces to collect dust. I have always incorporated my antiques into my every day lifestyle as does the rest of my family! Today I'm hooking up with Debra, one of my very favorite people with a huge heart as well, for Debra's Vintage Inspiration Friday. Go see her and some other great blogs as well!
